Shane had a soccer game this morning…it’s hard to believe that there’s only one left! We’ve had such a rainy season that several games have been canceled, and when the boys do play, half the time there’s standing water or mud on the fields. Today was a muddy one…
Watch some soccer action:
Cousin Elliot had his fifth birthday at a campground. It was a gorgeous, windy day and the campfire was cozy. There were lots of kids, and they had an absolute blast romping through woods, exploring a beaver lodge, finding sticks to whack against trees – all the good stuff! We had a family scavenger hunt (find 4 acorns, a leaf that’s red AND yellow, etc.) and made hot dogs and s’mores over the fire. Shane was one of the oldest kiddos there, and when I mentioned to him that there were no arguments or issues throughout the party, he said, “That’s because us big kids took care of it.”
Peggy helped Shane make a “God’s eye” which he proceeded to pretend was a gun. It was quite a scene – kids running through the trees, pointing pastel-colored crafts at each other and making shoot-em-up noises.
